All data is stored locally on your device. We do not upload anything to any server
Ling Player is a local music player. The app itself does not collect, upload, or analyze any usage data, device information, or personal identifiable information. All playback history, playlists, app settings, and other data are stored only locally on your device.
Ling Player stores the following local data on your device:
- Track related: Track, album, artist, and folder information
- Statistics: Play count, play time, and other etc
- Playlists: All playlists
- Settings: Theme, spectrum, lyric, and other personal configurations
✅ The above data is stored only locally on your device — we cannot access it.
❌ The app does not collect device model, OS version, IP address, or any other device information.
❌ The app does not upload your music files or playback history to any server.
The following situations involve data uploads, but they are completely initiated by you, and data is uploaded to the cloud service you specify:
With the OneDrive plugin, you can back up application data to your own OneDrive cloud or restore it anytime. You'll need to authorize sign-in to your OneDrive account. Data goes directly to Microsoft servers, in compliance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We do not access or store your OneDrive credentials.
When using Ling Player via Steam, the Steam plugin enables the following:
- Achievement Sync: Your in-app statistics are automatically reported to Steam to unlock achievements. This feature can be turned off in the plugin settings.
- Steam Cloud Save: The application data can be synced to the Steam cloud, allowing you to restore it across devices.
All data handling follows the Steam Privacy Agreement. You can turn off cloud saves anytime in your Steam settings.
⚠️ The above plugin features are optional. If you choose not to use them, no data will ever leave your device.
The app may contain links to the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Microsoft Privacy Statement (OneDrive plugin related)
- Steam Privacy Policy (Steam plugin related)
- Google Privacy Policy (Google Play distribution related)
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services to understand their data practices.
This app is not designed for children under 13 years of age and does not collect any age information from users. Since this app does not collect personal information, there is no risk of children's information being collected.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in app features or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on this page, along with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of the page. We recommend checking this page periodically.
For significant changes, we will notify you via in-app changelogs or Steam announcements.
